The National Nuclear Center of RK on May 17-19, 2016 held 7th Steering Committee Meeting between the National Nuclear Center of RK and Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) on human resource development in peaceful use of atomic energy.

During the course of meeting Japanese representatives presented the report per 2015 concerning Instructor Training Course for developed countries in Japan upon the following areas:

- Environmental Radioactivity Monitoring,

- Nuclear/Radiological Emergency Preparedness,

- Reactor Engineering,

As well as training Seminars on such themes as:

- Nuclear Plant Safety;

- Nuclear Energy Officials,

- Basic Radiation Knowledge for School Education,

- Site Preparation & Public Relations

It was noted that since 2010 to 2015, 21 citizens of Kazakhstan were successfully trained at Instructor Training Course in Japan, and 15 citizens were trained at Seminars. Also Work Plan for 2016 was presented.

Kazakhstan party, in its turn, presented the report of these courses per 2015 in Kurchatov town.

As part of the meeting the discussion on issues of courses organization in Japan and Kazakhstan was conducted. According to the discussion results Minutes of 7th Steering Committee Meeting between the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Japan Atomic Energy Agency was adopted and signed.

Also, NNC representatives introduced Japanese experts to scientific achievements of affiliated institutes by organizing visits to Semipalatinsk Test Site Museum, KTT Tokamak and EAGLE facilities.

At the end of the meeting, Vladimir Vituk thanked all participants for their active participation in discussion and expressed his gratitude to Japanese Government for support in human resource development in Kazakhstan.

Mr. Yoshihiro Nakano, Chief Manager of International Nuclear Human Resource Development Section, JAEA expressed gratitude to NNC RK for cooperation and warm hospitality to JAEA representatives.
