On October 13-14, 2015 Almaty hosted the sixth meeting of the Working group on «Creating a platform for practical cooperation in the area of decommissioning nuclear- and radiation-hazardous facilities, cooperating in handling of Radioactive waste and Spent nuclear fuel and rehabilitation of the area» under the commission of the CIS participating countries regarding the usage of nuclear power for peaceful purposes. Conclusions have been reached and the plan has been developed for joint actions towards further development of interaction between the organizations in CIS countries Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus. The second day of the Working group meeting was conducted at The Institute of Nuclear Physics along with the visit to the nuclear reactor complex VVR-K, the Item Disposal of Radioactive Waste territory and the Central Integrated Environment Research laboratories. The Director of the Department of Nuclear and Energy Projects Development under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, B. Karakozov and the Head of Department of the Committee of Nuclear and Energy Supervision and Control under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, M. Tulegenov, as well as the representative from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Belarus, Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom), The Atomic Company Kazatomprom and NTSC (Nuclear Technology Safety Center) enterprises took part in the sixth meeting of the Working group.
