Science Advisor of the Council of State of Cuba and the Vice President of the Cuban Academy of Sciences, Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart, during his stay to Astana visited the Astana branch of The Institute of Nuclear Physics, where he familiarized himself with DC-60 Heavy Ion Accelerator’s performances and science laboratories. Astana’s spoke warmly about Astana in general and about INP’s Astana branch: - “I have a good impression of the city, it is a very beautiful and modern city, institutions here are newly built, for example this centre. However, there have been some interesting works done in 9 years, which I think is a good foundation for the future.
