November 4, 2021 V.S. Shkolnik (President of the Nuclear Society of Kazakhstan, First Vice-President of KazNANS, Professor ) took part in the work of the International Forum on Innovation and Modernization of the Use of Water and Energy Resources in Central Asia, which was held at the Kazakh-British Technical University in Almaty (Source: tengrinews.kz).
The forum was organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, UNESCAP, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects, the International Scientific Center for Energy Integration and the Kazakh-British Technical University.
The Forum considered opportunities for projects that bring together several Central Asian countries and address cross-border or regional needs. The recommendations developed at the workshops will be voiced for consideration at the meeting of the Governing Council of the Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA).

Professor V.S. Shkolnik in the report "Future Energy and Climate" presented an analysis of the future of world energy and its impact on the Earth's climate.
“Humanity has reached such a level of technological development that allows us to control the Earth's climate. Technically, this is solved by placing satellite-screens in near-Earth orbit that will reflect or refract excess solar radiation falling on the Earth, which will lead to a decrease in temperature. This technology allows, depending on the need to regulate the temperature of the Earth (decrease or increase) ",- emphasized Professor V.S. Shkolnik.
He noted that another way of shielding solar radiation is to place in a highly elliptical orbit or other orbits of satellite-screens that limit solar radiation.
"In all cases, the task comes down to limiting solar radiation to an amount equivalent to the energy produced by mankind. This technology allows the production and use of practically unlimited amounts of energy without harmful climatic consequences."
