The plans - to build a vertically integrated multinational company based NAC "Kazatomprom". This is the so-called leading edge of the nuclear fuel cycle. And for that, there is a good basis, as Kazakhstan has uranium industry development and one of the oldest plants to produce nuclear fuel - is UMP.
Today we need to fill the missing links in the nuclear fuel cycle, and the company "Kazatomprom" actively working on entering into such production, as the conversion of uranium (currently in talks with a number of companies) completes the transaction by entering "Kazatomprom" in association with "Rosatom" enterprise to enrich uranium. That Kazakhstan is becoming a full participant in the whole cycle of nuclear fuel production. Plus, now there are negotiations with the French company Areva on a joint venture for the production of nuclear fuel assemblies, which are likely to be placed exactly at the Ulba plant.
