Kazatomprom’s operating results for the 2nd quarter of 2014

Based on the results of the 2nd quarter of 2014 uranium production volume in the Republic of Kazakhstan made up 5,650 tons which corresponds to plan figures.Uranium production volume of NAC Kazatomprom JSC, taking into account the shares of subsidiary and affiliated enterprises, for the 2nd quarter of 2014 made up 3,278 tons. Beryllium production of Ulba Metallurgical Plant JSC amounted to 476 tons, and tantalum products made up 65 tons. For the period of April - June 2014, MAEC-Kazatomprom LLP produced 1,153 mln. kWh of electricity, 650 thous. Gcal of thermal energy, 313 mln. cubic meters of water, including 3.05 mln. cubic meters of drinking water for the consumers of Aktau city and Mangistau region. These indicators cover the requirements of the region in energy resources and water. Subject to the development program of NAC Kazatomprom JSC the works on the strategic directions of the Company’s activity in the field of conversion, enrichment and nuclear fuel production continued. JV SARECO LLP started shipment of rare earth metals bulk concentrates for separation and further delivery to Japan. Astana Solar LLP produced 9,231 panels which correspond to 2.2 MW of energy.
