President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has met today with members of the public and businessmen during his working trip to eastern Kazakhstan, the Akorda's press service reports.
At the meeting, the Head of State noted that the East Kazakhstan region is the largest industrial province of the country that produces unique products.
"Signing of the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty will open access to new markets for local entrepreneurs. Utmost attention is paid to the implementation of the Industrial and Innovation Development Program. The regional agricultural sector is booming," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
The President of Kazakhstan also stressed that the small and medium business sector is developing dynamically. It will ensure sustainability of the national economic and social system.
President Nazarbayev also praised successful development of social sphere in the region. "Average life expectancy in eastern Kazakhstan has reached an age of 70 years, birth rate has increased by 41%," the President said.
The Kazakh leader also instructed to solve the problem with regional secondary schools in a critical condition and complete construction of healthcare facilities as per schedule.
At the meeting, governor of the region Mr. Saparbayev delivered a keynote report on the socioeconomic development of the province.
The Head of State also familiarized with the Oskemen EXPO-2014, an exhibition of "green economy" and alternative energy projects.
