The first annual meeting of the Network of Women in Nuclear of Central Asia (WINCA) was held in Larnaca (Cyprus) on the basis of the Cyprus Center for Land, Open Seas and Port Security (CYCLOPS) on June 24-27. The meeting was organized by the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) with the support of the International Nuclear Safety Administration of the National Nuclear Safety Administration of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE/NNSA) and the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

The program of the meeting discussed the progress of the network since its opening in 2023, its sustainable development strategy and promotion. The agenda also included presentations by regional and international experts on their work in the field of CBRN safety and activities aimed at developing capacities and attracting talents in nuclear and related fields. The program ended with a demonstration of mobile radiation detection equipment and other practical demonstrations. The annual meeting was attended by specialists from the Nuclear Society of Kazakhstan, NNC RK, INP RK, Kazatomprom, KazNU named after Al-Farabi, KazISS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, NTSC, as well as representatives of the nuclear industry of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, etc.
