Development of energy in Kazakhstan will go hand in hand with the creation of a nuclear power industry, President of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev stated during the Wednesday meeting with foreign ambassadors posted in Astana. The Head of State noted the traditional domestic energy sector is based on such resources as coal, oil and gas. "But since Kazakhstan is the world' s second largest uranium producer, it would be reasonable to look into the possibility of constructing a nuclear power plant here," N. Nazarbayev said.
