Representatives of NAC Kazatomprom JSC in Kazakhstani delegation headed by Kanat Bozumbayev, Minister of energy of RoK took part in 61th Session of IAEA General Conference, which held 18-22 September in Vienna, Austria.
Representatives of 168 countries participated in IAEA General Conference. Forum participants discussed issues of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, meeting future energy demand, ensuring nuclear safety, etc.
During the Conference Minister of energy of RoK Kanat Bozumbayev made a report on Kazakhstan’s contribution in the development and strengthening of cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy. The head of the delegation also presented IAEA LEU Bank to world community. LEU Bank is located on the territory of Ulba metallurgycal plant in Ust-Kamenogorsk. On August, 29 The President of RoK Nursultan Nazarbayev and IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano participated in solemn IAEA LEU Bank opening ceremony.
Within the framework of the Forum Baurzhan Ibrayev, Chief Officer for production of NAC Kazatomprom JSC held a number of meetings with representatives of partner countries of Kazatomprom. Sides discussed the issues of further cooperation in nuclear energy field.
On the exhibition, that took place within the framework of the IAEA Conference, Kazatomprom presented an exposition demonstrating the achievements of nuclear industry in Kazakhstan.
