Kazakhstan has maintained its leading position as the world’s largest uranium producer. At year-end 2014 uranium production output in the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to 22,829 thousand tons that corresponds to the planned figures. Taking into account the participatory interests in its subsidiary and affiliated enterprises, Kazatomprom produced 13,156 thous. tons in 2014. In 2014, NAC Kazatomprom JSC continued its prospecting and exploration works aimed at increasing resource base of uranium on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the year more than 986 exploration wells were drilled with total volume of 452,946 running meters. CJSC «Uranium Enrichment Center» shipped the end product in the amount of 4,986.5 thous. SWU (separative work units), that is 100.2% of production plan. MAEC-Kazatomprom LLP produced 5,080,000 thous. kWh of electrical power, 3,296,000 Gcal of heat energy and 1,235,000 thous.m3 of water, including 11,400 thous. m3 of the drinking one, for population of Mangistau oblast and Aktau city. Tantalum production output was 154,458 tons, niobium output - 72,228 tons, and beryllium output - 1,776,180 tons. JV SARECO LLP produced 240.4 tons of bulk concentrate of rare earth metals (REM) in 2014. The end product was shipped to the customer in the Russian Federation. In 2014, «Astana Solar» LLP produced 51,069 panels, which corresponds to 12.706 MW of energy, 13,338 MW (53,979 panels) of which were contracted by Kazakhstan companies (considering future production ).
