Today at «Astana Solar» LLP (subsidiary of «NAC «Kazatomprom» JSC) began its work two-day training workshop «Green» economy: energy efficiency and energy saving». The hosts of venue are the Ministry of environment and Water resources of Kazakhstan jointly with research and education center «Green Academy». Training workshop is organized for heads and employees of energy and investment companies, which are a part of “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC’s Group, including «Astana Solar» LLP, «KEGOK» JSC, «Samruk-Green Energy» JSC, «Samruk-Kazyna Invest» JSC, etc. Foreign producers of components and equipment for renewable energy enterprises will also participate in the training workshop. Nurlan Kapparov, Minister of environment and water resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kamen Velichkov, acting Head of Delegation of the European Union to Kazakhstan and Vladimir Shkolnik, Chairman of the Management Board of “NAC “Kazatomprom” JSC welcomed the participants. Key themes of training became the issues of support to domestic producers of renewable energy sources (RES), attraction of investors to this economy sector, best practices of energy management. As it was noted by the head of the national atomic company, RES are becoming more actual due to the increasing global needs in electricity and rapid decrease in fossil raw materials reserves. Vladimir Shkolnik specifically stressed the necessity of government support for the development of solar, wind and geothermal energy projects in Kazakhstan. As explained by the Chairman of the management Board of “NAC “Kazatomprom” JSC, one of the priority tasks is economic encouragement of domestic producers and consumers, including state aid to developing RES market. Best practice shows that state aid at initial stage of RES industry development is the first-order condition.
